Paper faces, as a metaphor of the possibilities of materiality, outline the boundaries between the self and the material, the fragmented and the extraordinary, and the ambiguity of femininity. Through a mixed media practice, Tolerance bears no face - in an effort to create secondary dialogues with female artists who bear different burdens. Some with due recognition, some with a lack there of until much later in life, some buried under historical oppression. Words and thoughts from female artists written on the margins, once again, projects the marginalization of femininity, embraces the sub-subjects and echoes the once-unechoed.
